Hosokawa Alpine offers a wide range of classifiers, for a wide variety of different products and fineness
ranges, tailored to meet the technical and commercial requirements of the individual application.
Gravity classifiers are used for sharp separations in the range of 0.3-10mm. Classification takes place in
every kink of the zig-zag tube allowing an extremely high and steplessly adjustable precision of the cut
resulting in clean fines.
Single or multi wheel classifiers are used for ultrafine separations. Coarse particles are rejected by the
classifying wheel and discharged.
Hosokawa Alpine innovated the concept of multi wheel classifiers for increasing the capacity of the
classifier, which grants super fine powders with much higher capacities.
Example products: ATP Turboplex, TTD air classifier.
The requisite flow of classifying air is generated by a main fan in the classifier head. A spiral air is generated
which leads to the separation of the fines from the air flow and discharged usually by means of a rotary
Example product: Ventoplex air classifier.
